Sanctuary Lighting Project

We plan to add new lighting to the front of our sanctuary this summer. A generous donor has contributed most of the cost, but additional donations are needed. To contribute, write a check to First United Church with “chancel lighting” in the memo line.

United Power Collective Leadership Team Tue. 5/22 (7:00pm)

First United’s mission work is focused on creating justice. We recently became a member of United Power for Action and Justice, an independent, non-partisan, self-funding organization of churches, synagogues, mosques, civic, neighborhood, health, and ethnic institutions from across Cook County. On May 22 at 7:00 pm, First United will host a spring United Power Collective Leadership Team meeting that is open to all leaders from UP member institutions. This group is responsible for strategic planning, issue selection, and planning actions for the whole organization. Please come! This meeting will be an excellent introduction to United Power people and projects. Information: Marcia Ashton, 708-524-5126.

Join the Choir on its last Sunday of the church year for the rousing gospel song Revelation 19. The more we have singing, the better! First United Family Camp Thur 8/9-Mon 8/13

Camping anyone? Save the date! First United Family Camp will take place Aug. 9-13, 2012 at Tower Hill Camp, Sawyer, Mich.. Come for the weekend or plan to stay from Thursday through Monday. Bring your tent, camper, or RV. You can enjoy the beach, ride your bike, make new friends, go antiquing, chill out… The possibilities are endless!
