Asylum-seeking families are welcomed by Migrant Ministry volunteers at St. Edmunds School (Centro San Edmundo, 200 S. Oak Park Avenue) on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, where migrants are provided breakfast and donated clothing, shoes, blankets, sheets, and toiletries. In addition, the ministry connects migrants with medical providers, aid to find housing or temporary shelter, access to social services, and other assistance to settle into the community. The Migrant Ministry is an interfaith effort sponsored by the Catholic Parishes of Oak Park to address the needs of our migrant brothers and sisters. ESL classes are held three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings). Clothing, blankets, and toiletry donations are accepted Mondays 9 am- 12 pm.
